I am Accepted Because I am United With the Lord and One With Him in Spirit
“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” – 1 Corinthians 6:17
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are no longer the same—we become a brand-new person in Him. Before salvation, we were separated from God because of sin (Isaiah 59:2), even hostile in our minds toward Him. God seemed distant, and our hearts felt far away from His presence. But when we realized that sin was the barrier, and we entrusted our lives to Christ, He removed that separation and united us with Himself. Now, through faith, His presence is near, and His love surrounds us.
The Bible teaches us that Jesus is in heaven interceding for us and preparing our eternal home, but He has also sent His Spirit to live within us. His Spirit is not just beside us but inside us, making us one with Him. Because of this union, we experience His love, joy, peace, and hope as a reality in our daily lives. Our desires change, our hearts are renewed, and our lives reflect the difference of being united with Christ.
If you feel distant from God today, ask yourself: Have you truly surrendered your life to Him? Are you trusting Him for the forgiveness of your sins? For believers who still feel far from Him, it may be time to search your heart for unconfessed sin. Confess it, turn from it, and you will experience His nearness once again. And if you still feel far away, call upon Him with faith—He is always faithful to reveal Himself and draw near to those who long for Him.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that through Jesus I am no longer separated from You but united with You in spirit. Help me to walk in the reality of Your presence every day. When I feel far away, remind me that You are near. Cleanse my heart from anything that would distance me from You, and fill me with Your Spirit’s love, peace, and joy. Keep me close to You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
