DON'T LET SATAN STEAL THE SEED

As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. — Mark 4:15

Jesus teaches that one of the enemy's strategies is not always an obvious attack but simple distraction. Satan knows the power of God's Word and knows what can happen when that Word gets into our hearts. So he works to keep the Word from getting from our ears to our hearts.

We can sit through a powerful sermon, read our Bible, or hear a word from God and still walk away without truly receiving it. Sometimes our minds are filled with worries, our phones are demanding our attention, or we're already thinking about what comes next.

The seed is powerful, but we have to make room for it to take root. Don't allow distraction to rob you of something God is trying to speak into your life. When you hear God's Word, stop and ask, “God, what are You saying to me?”

Action:

  • Set aside a few quiet minutes today without your phone or other distractions and listen for what God is showing you through His Word.

  • Read today's Scripture again and write down one thing God is asking you to receive or obey.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me guard my heart from every distraction that would steal Your Word from me. Give me ears that hear, a heart that receives, and the willingness to obey what You speak. Amen.
